One of my rescued females was pregnant and had a litter of 4 girls and one
boy. The boy got a broken leg very young- before he had fur or open eyes.
It was very obviously swollen and he wasn't getting out of the nest as much
as his sisters, as he wouldn't use it to push himself around. I'm guessing
he was stepped on by his mother, because I hadn't handled them out of the
tank yet at that point.
I called my vet because I was hesitant about taking him form his mother to
bring him to the office- he said there wouldn't be much to do for him, but
to make sure the mother continued to care for him. She did, and today he is
4 months old and you'd never know anything happened to him. He's bigger
than his dad!
