Tragedy struck our house this morning. I found Annie, one of our two rats,
dead. Tiffany, the other rat, bit my husband's face while we removed her
deceased roommate.
Then, a couple hours later, I noticed that one of our two schimmel boys,
Mike, has a scent gland tumour. It looks pretty bad. I just called the vet
and the receptionist told me that the doctor that sees gerbils won't be in
until Monday. I sure hope Mike will be okay for two days.
We just spend a bunch of money vaccinating a stray kitten and two goofy
ferrets. Now I have two days to find money for gerbil surgery.
I suppose with my gerbil population growing old, these sorts of problems are
going to arise with increasing frequency. Norm and Angel are almost 4 years
old with Mike and Ike only a few months younger than they.
