not sleeping together

as i'm sure you can tell by the subject, my male argente and my female black
gerbil have quite sharing the same nest, have in fact quit sharin the same
house, even though they are both connected to each other by a tube.  My male,
Cinnamon, just kind of lays in one of teh corners and looks like he's very
depressed, while my female, Pepper, is all curled up in the nest they used to
share.  anybody know why this is?
