I have this question.

I have a pair that I want to put together, an apricot
girl and a DEH spot boy. They are both 8 weeks old as
of now. I had been planning to put the two together
when I first got the DEH boy, when they were about 6
weeks old except . . . .

the apricot girl is paired with her mother. I
wasn't sure if the mom was pregnant (thought she was
actually) and I wanted to let the apricot girl to stay
with mom at least till the litter was a few weeks old.
well, it appears that she isn't pregnant after all .
. . and this brings me to the question.

when I pair the apricot girl with the DEH boy, that
leaves the mom all by herself. I don't have any other
gerbs to pair her with, everyone else is currently in
pairs that have been established for quite some time.
Except the boy tank, and I don't want to pair her with
a boy. I don't really want her to have any pups
because I'm not real happy with her temperament. I
know that trying to introduce females are harder than
males, especially when they are older. This female is
8 months old now. What I'm wondering is if it will be
too much for her if she's alone? I don't want to wait
much longer to pair up the younger two, since they're
already 8 weeks old. I just don't know what to do
with the mom. anyone have any suggestions? I
currently have 16 gerbils all between the ages of 8
weeks to 10 months, with 10 of them being males. I
wouldn't be against possibly getting another female to
pair her with, except that I've heard how people have
so much trouble trying to introduce older females. so
i figured I'd ask.

Thanks
Renee
