pregnant gerbil

I think my gerbil, Butterscotch, is about a week pregnant. Is there any way
at this stage to tell if she is or isn't?

Also if i have pups what is a good time that I can split the brothers and the
sisters so they dont all start breeding, and could I put the father with the
boys and the mother with the girls or will the mother and father miss
eachother?
