For those of you who are interested, but who have missed any of my other
posts: My Viola had her second litter on Thursday. She had a litter of one.
I was pretty worried 'cause she's a great mother and I hate to lose animals,
no matter what. So, I decided to attempt to foster three mouse pinkies to
her. I have tried this before, with roughly a 50% success rate. This time,
it seems to be working well. Viola accepted the pinkies with ease. She dug
them up and pushed 'em around a bit, and started feeding them. As of today,
every time I've checked them, their little tummies are all filled up. I am
not suggesting this as the only or even the best method for taking care of a
one-pup litter, but it's something to think about.
