new home...and a question ^_^

Hi all,

I just moved my two gerbils into their own aquarium tank.  Needless to say
they are quite happy, and I've gotten A LOT more sleep sine I no long have to
listen to them chewing on the plastic home they were in before.   Just to let
everyone know, Cinnamon and Pepper are sleeping together again...it was
really only that one day.  My friends and I jokingly came to the conclusion
that Pepper must have simply put him in the doghouse for doing something, so
he was forced to sleep on the "couch" ^_^  Anyway, my question is, after
they'd gotten used to their new surroundings, Pepper decided that she
preferred the food dish upside down.  Every time i take it out and put it
back in, she tips it completely over again.  I know a few posts ago, someone
said that things should be kept the same in the tank when there's a pregnant
female...and Peppers getting very pregnant ^_^  So what i was wondering is,
instead of fighting with her with the food dish, is it ok to just scatter the
food into their litter without a dish?  Thanks all! ^_^
