Corn meal

Hello, someone said earlier that they gave their gerbils corn meal to bathe in, 
instead of chinchilla dust.  Well I thought this sounded like a good idea so I tried 
it, but my gerbils just sit in the bowl and eat it, they don't roll like they do with 
sand!  It's like they think it is just a big food bowl...
