Food:
If seeds are so bad for gerbils, why do all the pet stores sell them,
promote them, and use them for their small animals? They're supposed to be
specially made and blended for hamsters and gerbils. I've been feeding my
gerbils nutri-blocks and a little bit of seeds daily, but my sister took
care of them last week and she definitely gave them way too much seeds. And
they do look fatter to me. But they won't eat the blocks unless it's really
a last resort.

Bedding:
I've been told and read that aspen shavings are best for gerbils. But all
the pet stores pointed me to pine shavings, and these pine shavings all
indicate they're for small animals. They include pictures of them, one of
which is a gerbil. Which is right? I've been using pine and they don't
seem to be having any problem. How do I know if they ARE having problems?

Amy (My gerbils are Poke-poke and Ding-dum).
