Called American Airlines today to ask about having one gerbil on board
the plane during a flight.  Only dogs, cats, and birds are allowed.  No
reason was really given to why a gerbil isn't allowed, except that
gerbils fall under the "rodent" category.

So, it looks like I'll leave my girl home alone.  Don't you think having
a caregiver come over twice a week (say Wednesday and Sunday) would be
enough to replenish food, cardboard, etc?
