I wanted to clarify part of my original reply to Jen's post about her older gerbil with URI- For meds, I said 3cc Baytril and 3cc Doxycycline- this is how the meds should be mixed, in a 1 to 1 ratio. This is NOT the dose that should be given to the gerbil- that would definitely kill a gerbil. The dose for the gerbil should be calculated using the animals current weight. A gerbil of average weight would probably have a dose around the 0.05-0.1cc range, twice daily.
