I'm not sure if they counts as a real emergancy.. certainly they're not dying..
I just finished cleaning tanks. Cairo and Zerwin are my younger pair. Under a year old. I put them back in their tank with new bedding and some slightly old bedding. They were fine, exploring. I tossed in a hard tube that was in my other gerbil tank. Stupid of me? Possibly. Cairo and Zerwin were rolled in a gerbil ball a few minutes later. I tried twice to get them apart, but was afraid to get bitten. I finally got them apart, along with a deep gash to my index finger. What can I do? Can I put them together? Right now Cairo is in a large critter keeper inside their main tank. Zerwin is in the main tank. Please reply quickly -- Cairo is bleeding and so is Zerwin, maybe!
