Hi everyone,

I was going to write a longer email but I'm too tired. I really have to sleep. But
I want to get this question off to you first.

I'm thinking of making my own seed mix for my gerbils. The reason is that I'm tired
of feeding the prepackaged ones, and my gerbils disdain them. Also, it takes them
so long to get through the bag that I worry about freshness before we're even
halfway through a bag, and plus I would rather they have fresh stuff with no
preservatives. But I don't know what type of seeds/grains to use and in what
proportions. Can you please give me some tips? Has anyone done this before and
what worked best?

One more thing -- are butternut squash seeds the same as pumpkin and sunflower seeds
in terms of fat content? I've been feeding zucchini seeds to them and they love it.
My mom just gave me a bunch of butternut squash ones and I'm not sure if they are
high in fat.

Thanks so much,
Amy
