Yes, hamsters come out at night... late at night.
My son enjoyed his because he and I are both night
owls and stay up quite late when able. Hamster urine
is much more pungent than gerbils. Hamsters are
generally not as people friendly as gerbils. But most
importantly. Kathleen is right that they do best
alone. Two will often fight and the winner is the
lucky one who gets to live. Sad but true.
