Sam breezed through his scent gland tumor surgery yesterday. The vet had him about two and a half hours when she called and said he was ready to come home. He was pretty sleepy the rest of the day but this morning is acting normal.
I want to thank everyone who sent advice as to what to do for his recovery. We would have split caged them on the vet's advice, which I don't think would have been the best thing for them. Unfortunately, the vet had already said not to bring Bilbo with Sam for the surgery, but they were not apart very long and we rubbed Sam with tank bedding and Bilbo with Sam's carrier bedding before putting them back together. Plus, the vet didn't have to remove the entire scent gland so Sam still has his own smell. Your replies also reassured my husband that Sam had a very good chance of coming through surgery with no problem. This surgery was a lot harder on him than it was on Sam. 8-) Thanks again, ===== Elaine Lynch Bilbo and Sam AGS member We will miss you Frodo. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
