I can't tell you how happy my daughter is that Minnie will now let my daughter hold her! I did as one of you suggested - I had Shannon sit cross-legged with a towel in her lap and let the hamster just roam about on her lap. Soon the hamster began washing herself and soon after that Shannon was able to pick her up without any problem! Yay! Thank you for that wonderful advice! Also, I learned from a book today that I should be feeding our hamsters at night (the complete opposite of our gerbils), because they're nocturnal animals. Is that correct, or does it really matter all that much? -Jean
