However, they continue to enjoy sex throughout their life. The fact that your female actually accepted a new male, suggests that her fertility was waning. It can be extremely difficult to get a fertile female to accept a new mate. However, once menopausal, they are much easier to pair up. Be reassured that your gerbils behaviour is completely normal. They are enjoying a very rewarding partnership. Sue
