Hi Dani, you were very fortunate to catch this in time. How old is the injured female? Once females hit maturity having more than one in a breeding clan is a very volitile situation.
I would keep the female alone until she heals, treating her by putting neosporin on the wounds. After she is completely healed you can split cage introduce her to a same-sized female or can pair her with a male. Since the pup she stole is only 4-5 days old and pre-fuzz the mother should accept him back. Follow the steps for fostering. That is remove mom and dad, put the pup on the bottom of the pup pile, after 10 minutes return dad to the tank. If all goes well return mom to the tank. Keep a careful eye on them until you see she has discovered and is grooming and nursing the pup. Best of luck to you, Donna ABC Gerbils www.abcgerbils.com --- Dani Marshall <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > To all: > > Please help I just found one of my young females in > my cage with my mom and > babies.
