I guess this could be as easily internationalised as uses of the IAE messages, but has the advantage that they're all in one place :-)
Why is that bad? All that needs to be internationalized is the "Attribute is null: " bits. I do not suggest we translate the attribute name, as that is intended to be the name of the java attribute for easy javadoc refs.
