The problem looks like with the directory permissions in the cvs repository:
d--------- 7 gstein apcvs 512 Nov 19 09:30 incubator-geronimo
Is anyone from Apache here that can fix this?

It is not possible to do cvs updates and checkouts of the non-public
geronimo cvs.
