I received a 404 when trying to connect to <http://localhost:8080/geronimo-web-console>. The end of the output from "maven run:main" is below. The geronimo-web-console.war /appears/ to be getting loaded....

It's not going to help you much, but just to let you know that it works for me. Although there was an exception about having not enough priviledges to access a file or so, but despite this, the console has opened up in a browser.
I work on Win2k+Cygwin so it doesn't necessarily reflect your environment.
