Hello,
I have done some investigations about the range of years to be used in the short copyright notice : it must start with "the first year of publication of the file contents".
Hence, Jeremy you are right and thanks David for having raised this issue.
In other words, another massive update needs to be performed.
I see two approaches here: - one migrates all the files to the 2003 - 2004 range; or - one retrieves the exact commit date to have the "right" range.
For your information, here is a couple of files which have been initally commited with an incorrect license:
- org.apache.geronimo.deployment.Bootstrap: copyright in 2003, should have been 2004;
- org.apache.geronimo.transaction.manager.XidImporter: no copyright at all; and
- org.apache.geronimo.kernel.log.GeronimoLog: same as Bootstrap.
Some files have even been commited this year with a copyright in 1999.
So, how can we progress this issue and complete the migration?
Cheers, Gianny
