such an action would almost certainly constitute breach of the
copyright designs and patents act 1988, which is something that I
amongst others cannot condone. get_iplayer is not intended to enable
you to break the law, please do not use it for such activities.

I agree. It's one thing to record something for personal use; it's
quite another to give a copy of it to someone else. Please let's not
draw attention to get_iplayer in that way.
