Hi,
I've used the following command for a while now but for some reason it
has stopped working since yesterday:
get_iplayer --stream --modes=good --nopurge --type=livetv "BBC News"
--player="mplayer -cache 2048 -ao alsa -title 'News 24' -"
I've rebuilt mplayer 1.3.0 and updated get_iplayer to 2.95 but the
problems remains.
What happens is mplayer opens, plays a brief millisecond of sound and
then nothing. I have a black mplayer screen which doesn't respond and
I have to ctrl-c it.
I've tried the command without piping to mplayer and there is output
in the terminal so it looks like some data is coming through.
Any ideas what I can check/test to find the problem?
Here is console output:

Update. I've just tried with -vo xv and it works, so it looks like an
opengl problem.
