I'm using GiP v2.94 - at present I have no need to upgrade. I use the Windows based PVR.
Whilst the default for t.v. downloads is 'best' for HDD quality my computer cannot play these smoothly. So for t.v. progs I manually set the Recording Mode to 'good' and then click on Apply Settings. However the download is reported as being flashhigh1, even though flashstd1 is actually used. INFO: Checking existence of default version INFO: flashhigh1,flashhigh2,flashstd1,flashstd2 modes will be tried for version default INFO: Trying flashhigh1 mode to record tv: Planet Earth II - 2. Mountains and the frame rate etc. is thus - which indicates flashstd1: frame=81096 fps=473 q=-1.0 size= 315811kB time=00:54:03.84 bitrate= 797.5kbits/s frame=81594 fps=474 q=-1.0 size= 317721kB time=00:54:23.74 bitrate= 797.5kbits/s frame=81843 fps=474 q=-1.0 size= 318721kB time=00:54:33.70 bitrate= 797.6kbits/s frame=82957 fps=479 q=-1.0 size= 323024kB time=00:55:18.27 bitrate= 797.5kbits/s Is this 'bug' perpetuated in later versions?
