Sisters Angie Jackson and Carmen Henry from Birmingham are hoping organ-restorer David Burville can revive their late mother’s pride and joy, a portable pump organ. The organ accompanied their parents as they journeyed from Jamaica to begin a new life in the UK during the Windrush era. Angie and Carmen’s family would come together to sing around the organ while their mother played hymns. However, the organ has been silent for over 40 years, and the sisters yearn to hear it once more. Toni Hazel from Sussex brings along a well-travelled piece of Second World War history of which she hopes hat restorer Ian Harding can take command. The RAF cap belonged to her father, worn proudly when he served as a pilot flying a Lancaster bomber. Two more sisters hope restorer Will Kirk can save a beloved piece of family furniture. Wendy McKee and Sue Willie from Hull have brought in a baby crib, made by their grandfather from wood salvaged from a bomb-damaged church during the First World War. The crib has held the precious infants of their family from 1914 to present day. Finally, leather conservator Suzie Fletcher welcomes Nick McCullen, who has a cherished keepsake that belonged to his father. The naval rigging tools enveloped in a leather casing were indispensable to his seaman father, but years at sea followed by decades hanging in a garage have rendered it almost beyond repair. Susie and silversmith Brenton join forces on this rescue mission to transform the kit. ==== On 06/03/2020, Jeremy Nicoll - ml gip <jn.ml.gti...@wingsandbeaks.org.uk> wrote: > On 2020-03-05 14:52, CJB wrote: >> There are over 20 epsiodes incl. series 5 eps 1 - 20 on iPlayer. > > It's weird that S5 is described as having 40 episodes, but only the > first 20 have been shown, so far. > > I note that the first episode of S6 is due to be transmitted on 18 > Mar... but this apparently is a series of 14 episodes. > > > I'm wondering if the missing eps 21-40 (each of 44m) of S5 have in > fact been reborn as 14 x 60m eps under a new series number - the > duration would be about the same. > > -- > Jeremy Nicoll - my opinions are my own > > _______________________________________________ > get_iplayer mailing list > get_iplayer@lists.infradead.org > http://lists.infradead.org/mailman/listinfo/get_iplayer > _______________________________________________ get_iplayer mailing list get_iplayer@lists.infradead.org http://lists.infradead.org/mailman/listinfo/get_iplayer
