Hello, after some discussion I think it is very clear that we MUST move to a repository distribution, there are some risks and limitations, those will need to be mitigated with better QA and good information for the users.
The objective is to have the the apt repository and the getdeb web interface (powered by APT-Portal) available before 9.10, it would be excellent to have it ready during the 9.04 release date, however due to the short time that will be very hard to achieve. We will be providing updates with the current interface/processes until GetDeb v2(sounds nice) is ready, at the time the existing .deb download interface will no longer be available. I would prefer that people with the required development skills to move their focus to GetDeb v2, but that is a personal decision.
