Hi Carl, This is indeed a good place to ask for that kind of help. We also have #getpaid, though it is often quiet, so even though a bit slower, the mailing list is more likely to have more eyes watching :)
I know that some folks have done offline payment processing (I believe Maurits at Zest), though the community is very new at taxes (trying to get Dennis to share his example).
