I have a client with an existing site that is not (yet) ecommerce ready. We've been working toward integrating their existing archetype with getpaid (and adding fed-ex and state sales tax modules).
Their product archetype is a collection of images, text fields, downloadable manuals, etc. Pretty standard stuff. However, the archetype currently has two pricing fields: one for new and one for refurbished equipment. These two different prices are accompanied by different SKUs as well. I was thinking about how to get around this, and am leaning toward remaking the main product archetype to make it folderish, and have another archetype, shippable_product that is contained by the main archetype. Then put in links on the display page for the main archetype to new/@@getpaid-cart-add?add_item=True and refurb/@@getpaid-cart-add?add_item=True. That way we can keep the same look & feel on the site. The only thing here is that the sub_product archetype would be just an empty archetype that was set to "shippable". That is an extra step the client won't like. In short, can I generate an archetype that subclasses shippable? Or maybe set it up with the same fields as shippable and somehow magically have the cart understand it? --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "getpaid-dev" group.
