Right, on the Mac you search by MacType, since the extension is ignored. I don't think RS has any choice about this, assuming they're hooking into OS-level filtering routines. That's probably why it's not documented in the RB docs--they're just using whatever the OS gives them. But you're right, it's a frequent source of confusion, and the docs would be more helpful if they included a note about that.
