Groupboxes and radiobuttons are different controls and are in no way related.

Interesting report. Then, if they are "in no way related" why is it that RadioButtons have to be in a GroupBox in order for the GroupBox to manage which ones are turned off when another is turned on?

They don't
Start a new app, put 3 radio buttons on a window and run.
They work like a single radio button group with nothing else one the window.

The group box serves to "group" them into a group that can be managed separately from another bunch of radio buttons if you need more than one bunch on a window. This can also be done with a canvas or any other control that can be a parent control

And that if you don't have your duckies in a proper row, i.e., the control numbers, that this wonderful coordination of which RadioButtons are off when others are on, will not work?

Seems to me there is SOME kind of relationship.
Just which control is the parent

But this is neither here nor there with respect to my primary question, how to daisy-chain calling RadioButton Action events.....

You really don't need to if you've laid out the window properly as each "group" (however it is grouped) will automatically disable others in the group when a different one is selected
