Thanks to all. Jack had the answer, the code that fills the checkbox in the
main windows open event checks and prevents the selection window from
opening.
Still haven't coded yet, but think it is resolved.

You might check to see if there are references to the selection dialog box
window in the code of your main window where you do not want the dialog to
appear.  Simply referring to the dialog window in a stream of code that is
executed will cause the window to display.
