This is the 4th time I've sent this message to the list. The code is
included in all of the previous e-mails, but I just received a message that
the e-mail was too long. If necessary, I'll send the code later.---
I've written a hot folder application. It watches a set of hot folders and
moves files that are placed into these folders to their perspective output
folders. Under certain circumstances these files will be renamed before
they are moved to the output folders.
In a Thread, the application loops through all hot folders setups. The
setups contain the information for each of the individual hot folders.
Inside this loop is another loop that goes through an array of hot folder
FolderItems. These FolderItems are the input and output folders. Inside
this loop, another array is checked. This array tells the code whether or
not this particular hot folder it set to rename specific files before the
files are moved.
If the hot folder does not have to rename a particular file, the file is
simply moved to the output folder. If it needs to be renamed, the file is
renamed based on the presence of its name in a Dictionary. If its name
exists in the Dictionary, then the file name is changed to the Value of the
Dictionary Key.
All of this usually works, but occasionally files that are to be renamed are
not renamed. If you place the file back into the hot folder, the file ends
up being renamed as it should be.
Are you running on a local volume in Mac OS 10.4.x?
Maybe Spotlight is messing things up for you.
Try to turn of spotlight for your folder in the Spotlight Control panel
