No, the work-around is to put some unlikely (but acceptable to the compiler) string as the return type, for example, "fooble". Then, do a global (or restricted to this module/metho) Find & Replace, replacing "fooble" with "String(,)". I know this was reported before, and this workaround was even specified in the feedback report, but I can't seem to find it now.
