It does not, at least in the ANS Forth meaning of "immediate".

At least (factors of) POSTPONE and ', but possibly also the text
interpreter special-case interpret/compile: words, so the "immediate"
here and some other stuff in the definition of interpret/compile: have
little or no consequence.
