Hello,
This is the first time that I have used this mailing
list, so hello everyone.
I am trying to install GForth on a cheap webhost
and then trying to run a hello-world script with
it. Hitch. No shell access. Thing is I am a
cheapskate and like paying $2/month for hosting.
Question: Is it reasonable to be able to install
gforth manually. Here is what I have done for my
first attempt. I copied gforth to a directory
which I *think* it will run from. Then I moved a
.fi file to a directory that it is looking for.
Then I renamed the file which was kernl32l.fi to
gforth.fi. Then I wrote my hello world program
and gave it the path to the gforth. All the while
making sure of the file permissions.
I was able to get past error message
"500 Internal Server Error"
and instead get a blank page when I run the script
hello.f. Maybe that means something is happening.
In the error logs I get an error -13 for every
time I tried to run hello.f
Are there other support files that need to be
uploaded?
Probably you are saying, just install Apache and
GForth on your own machine and forget about it.
I can do that for a shorter development cycle.
But it will need to go on the host eventually
anyway.
Any advice/clues would be appreciated.
Thanks.
