If this is the reason, that's the same as the exec-shield problem of Fedora and some other Linux distributions. The same fix should help. See <http://www.complang.tuwien.ac.at/forth/gforth/Known-problems.html>. I guess it's time to make another release, to get the patch out to users, among other things.
