The issues seem to be getting deeper for me here...
I have not been able to figure out how to get FinkCommander to see
any of the unstable branches of gforth, but 0.5.0-12 installed fine.
I've been spending most of my time trying to get ffcall installed on
the Intel Macs that we have here and I reported a bug (#1628070) on
SourceForge about it not running all its checks. That turned out to
be a duplicate of another bug (#1535284), so mine will probably be
closed. I then found that ffcall was also part of darwin ports and
it installed fine. However, when I went to reinstall gforth to use
it, I found that it did not pick it up from opt/local/lib. So I
copied the files over to /usr/local/lib and then gforth recognized
it. However, my OpenGL code wouldn't work, and I ended up seeing a
memory corruption with what was on the screen when I set the "Default
Iconic Windows" in the GLUT Preferences. So, I tried your
gluttest.fs and got the same kind of crash.
I suspect I may be out of luck here, but it sounds like ffcall is
dead on Intel Macs, which means that my GUI attempts are dead too,
with gforth at least. At least, until someone solves the issues, or
comes up with a workable means to call external libraries from gforth.
