Before updating from cvs gforth compiled,
today after updating I get this message:

You don't have a working TeX binary (tex) installed anywhere in
your PATH, and texi2dvi cannot proceed without one.

If you get that, you have a working gforth gforth-fast etc.  TeX is
only needed for the documentation (and then only for the printable
docs).

Is there a way to disable the generation of the docs?
