Hello. I hope everyone is doing well, and anticipating the holidays.
=== I wanted to throw the suggestion of supporting other visualization tools. Is there any way to allow GHDL to output things in a GNUplot compatible format? I know that the other tools are good, but if there were a way to support GNUplot as the simplest visualization tool, it might be a good idea in terms of either formatting diagrams for academic purposes or leveraging the abilities of GNUplot because it is powerful and it is common on many Unix platforms. I am wanting to use GHDL as a simulator to teach first and 2nd year undergrads about VHDL without the hassle and learning curve of other tools like ModelSim or NC-VHDL etc. The hope is to be able to use nothing more than an SSH connection to learn VHDL and to see output from testbenches. I have tried to build the other plotting tools GHDL is compatible with, on Solaris, but thus far have not had much luck. I am glad at least that .27 does work on Solaris but without any means of visualization of the output from a test bench, I have to hesitate before writing tutorials around GHDL. Hence my suggestion of GNUplot as a possible stand-in. S. _______________________________________________ Ghdl-discuss mailing list [email protected] https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/ghdl-discuss
