Hi All,
My students often have macs that cannot run GHDL.
I have not been able to help the students with this,
as I cannot get my own mac to run GHDL.

One solution would be to get GHDL to run on the mac,
but I understand that this is hard.

Another solution
Create a portal capable of running GHDL applications over the web.

A secure, web based GHDL application portal that allows researchers
to upload code, run applications and visualize results.

Motivations
GHDL is a widely used HDL environment for research and development
Many applications continue to be developed and deployed using GHDL
Researchers from geographically distributed locations want to share
applications and data
Users want to run GHDL applications without having to install
CYGWIN or linux.

With, perhaps, 20 or so students, I have no worries about overloading
my machine, as these are probably going to be small applications.

Just a thought.

The question of implementation is another matter. Perl script on a text box
will not give people a proper editor. A java script editor for hosting
VHDL sounds wrong-headed, for so many reasons.

Perhaps an RMI interface on a JEDIT deployed web-start application?
I don't know. Any ideas?

Thanks!
  - DL
