Hi all, I would love to see some revitilization of GHDL development and getting some documentation done is probably a good first step.
With regards to knowing Ada, it really is not very hard to learn if you know programming and/or VHDL. A tutorial can be found here http://www.cs.washington.edu/education/courses/cse590p/03au/7ada_tutorial.htm and here is an Ada reference (especially the 'Programming in Ada' section): http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Ada_Programming The hard part for me has been the GCC internals, fortunately more documentation has been written on this since I looked at it. Some links to GCC documentation: http://blog.lxgcc.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/GCC_frontend.pdf http://www.linuxjournal.com/article/7884 The Linux Journal article is pretty dated, but it still has some validity. I will download the mentioned git tree and compare it to the stuff I did, see if I can merge the two. Hopefully I will have time to chip in more seriously soon. Have fun, Kevin
