I'm not done yet : compiling some of the standard libraries, I get
errors of the form:
{GC 5342k -> 3799k}virtual memory exhausted: Cannot allocate memory
(with or without the GC message, according to -quiet).
Which is suspicious since the numbers reported are a good bit less than
the installed memory. (Unless it is reporting k but meaning M!)
std_logic_1164 is OK, numeric_std is not.
I have commented out the failing libraries just to carry on, but I must
go back and fix them. Hopefully only a day or two more...
Once it is properly working, I will need to tidy up (a lot!) and I can
post a patch here. I hope someone with access to gna.org can check the
changes into the repository.
Tristan : I have taken the liberty of incrementing the version
number/name to avoid confusing versions. If this isn't OK, let me know.
