This is good ... I was wondering about rearranging the build process.
But for 0.32 the current/old process still applies, right?

My mind is still a fog but I believe the head of the 0.32 branch ought
to report version as 0.32rc1 just now, rather than 0.32, until we have
enough reports of successful build, necessary backports etc.
