That's right, but Vista's mainstream support ended in 2012 and according to
Wikipedia it's market share
is below 3 %. So I think it's not a target platform anymore.

OK. My plan was to see if this short intro is too short or too long or if I
should explain some parts more in detail :)
After that, we can copy and paste the lines into a README and/or a wiki page on
GitHub. Normally, I try to ask
other people do my instructions step by step and let them rework my usage
guides. That not laziness. It's just
that I know my tools and my steps, so I forget to mention some not so obvious
steps.

There are a lot of documentation in this mail, I will copy part of it in the
README.
Is someone against removing old .bat scripts ? I'd prefer not to have two ways
to build on windows (maintenance burden and could be confusing for users).
