Have you tried the latest release that came out today? It ships with James' Pidgin support.
The standalone gimmie-dock has issues with growing. There's not really a good solution that I have come up with yet. Possibly scaling all the icons down to make space instead of growing the panel could alleviate the side-effects, but the problem is still present. Another option is to break out the sections into the screen corners, but this has implications since it's such a long distance from one corner to the next, and it effectively steals a lot of space from application windows. One idea I have for this is to make the browsing window a singleton tabbed-window, so the cost at looking for an object in a separate section is lessened. Additionally, a single window might mean we can remove the labeled buttons that currently show after a delay. This is done currently to avoid interacting poorly with maximized windows (to answer your second question ;-) But, I mostly run the gimmie-applet version these days anyway, which doesn't have a live object list. I'm interested to see if people are still using the standalone gimmie-dock. Do people still run it? -Alex On 6/8/07, [EMAIL PROTECTED] <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hello, > > I'd like to say that i really like this application and it's development. > And i have a few suggestions: > > * I don't like, that the panel is enlarged to both sides when an application > is opened. i often click on the wrong places while it's enlarging. > > * And, there is another thing: When i hover with the mouse over the panel, > the "Applications", "Documents" appear with an delay.
