Here is a thought regarding the who's who in gimp - perhaps add one more category, author, artisit, documenter, and founder (or contributor or something along those lines) - with the intent being those ACTIVE authors (et. al.) are listed as specified, and past contributors are lumped together. Maybe review the list at the end of each major release and if your name isn't in the change log for version X, then you get moved (or stay) in the founder category.
