I would like to request that next time you see something that says "you are easily offended, do not read the rest of this message", you should follow the advice and not read the rest of the message if you are easily offended. However you should read the rest of THIS message. That being said, I disagree with your comment about the developers. I do agree that this program in question is "great" but I think without users feedback it would probably be much more limited than it is now. There is only so much imagination in a given developer's head, and one of the reasons gimp is where it is now is because of constructive user feedback. Adam can write great low-level stuff, but he tells everyone directly that making it user friendly is not his area of expertise. Same is true for others, I am sure. If gimp is going to get better, easier to use, and more popular, whatever, then developers should listen to the users once and a while. Not every gimp user is going to be a hardcore hax0r who sleeps dreaming of vi commands and remembers all emacs key bindings. Mr. Egger obviously fails to see that point since he doesn't give a fuck about what us USERS think, he is only interested in his OWN problems. All is good, but how can he be working for a software company making software for users, if he doesn't give a shit about users problems? Puzzling. By the way, "band width" is not a word. It's two words that make no sense together in this context. Appropriate word here would probably be "bandwidth", although I fail to understand how a ~2kb message could be wasting it. Even with my limited connection that still means only 5-10 seconds of download. Text is easily compressible, too. Most modems support V.42bis data compression which gives up to a 8:1 ratio for text content, so amount of bandwidth wasted by my post would be minimal. Beware though, V.42bis uses a modified Lempel-Ziv algorithm, which is the same algorithm used to compress .GIF images. You might need to get a permission from Unisys before you can receive text compressed using this protocol. I could be wrong here too but your tone sounds like "oh lets be thankful to God that this High Group of People created The Greatest Tool Gimp, and let's never complain about anything because God told them to make Gimp, and anything God makes is 100% perfect". That's kinda wrong. See above. I noticed even you complained the other day, when you were asking for some grid related stuff. But that post was pretty incoherent, and I couldn't figure out exactly what you were trying to ask. Sometime it helps if your request makes sense before other people can start working on it. If it was about adding grid to the image when you are zoomed in say 8x or higher, yes I agree that's a valid idea that should be implemented. But like I said I really didn't understand what you were talking about. And if you truly don't like me that much, well, be hardcore and add my email to your procmail killfile. I am sure you know how to do that. But why bother? Some day I might email you with info about your husband cheating on you, and you won't get it, and find out by yourself, and you'll be so shocked you might die, or have a heart attack, and then you'll say it was all my fault. <g> Other people could find my posts funny or amusing, or even useful, why deprive them of reading my stuff just because YOU don't like me? Don't take this stuff so personally either, after all its just a bunch of bits on the network, nothing to get offended about. tc -- ・‥…━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━…‥・ timecop at japan.co.jp | OA通信サビース株式会社 | NTT DoCoMo I thought everything that Linus Torvalds is involved with was divine perfection?
