Nevermind. It happened again. This is so frustrating!

The "beginning" of a path isn't always where you think it is (especially of the path is "closed"). Futhermore Gimp doesn't care much about the order of the strokes (or even their direction).

If have a set of pythonGimp scripts that could help diagnose your problem and may be even fix it:

Check path-dump (run with gimp-console on windows), delete-stroke and reverse-strokes:
