No clue but seems ok in 2.10.22
If I choose a 100 pt bld black cap letter and invoke the filter all
it does is turn it grey. Nothing more. Is there some trick to it?
Try putting a solid white layer under the text and doign Merge DOwn on
the text layer, then run teh filter.
Switch to Bump Map (preserve colour) to keep the black.
GIMP does not have non-destructive text effects yet.
